Making the Switch

I did my first packing test. I can't believe in less than a week I will taking holiday in the USA. Holiday? This is the first time I ever had a set time flying home and a return ticket to the continent I always dream of. It's a very bittersweet feeling.

As I pack I'm realizing how many switches I must make.

1. Money
I have to make sure I have euro to get to and from the airport in Berlin. Then, I need to have dollars on the other side. I must say it's easier now with having a bank account in both country. No more of this going to the bank and requesting to get euro.

2. Keys
When I leave the visiting country, I never have to be responsible for keys. I always leave them in the apartment or give them to my boss. In those cases I just need to find my house keys that I tucked away. This time I have to keep track of both. Keys to lock my house when I leave Berlin and keys to get into my house in PA.

3. Phones
I have two of everything it feels like! Yes, I have two phones. One phone that is connected to my American AT&T account and one here that I pay for credit every month.

4. Chargers
No more converters. I have to find all those North American styled chargers.

5. ID
In Berlin, I need my passport, work visa, and most importantly my bus pass. When I'm in the States, my drivers license will do just fine. Plus you need a book or music for the train ride... It will be nice to have a lighter bag.

4 days! xxx
