This weekend I realized how true that statement is. When one walks into Marcia's room, one can still see the stenciled carousel boarder on the walls. But your eyes are first drawn downward to the stacks and stacks of books. First in the corner, then you see her bookshelf... it's not just neatly organized one book vertically next to the other. No, this bookshelf is stuffed full. Books laying on top of another -diagonally even. It's a reader's heaven. One will also notice the stack of CDs.
After having a delicious breakfast of scrambled eggs, sausage, and scrabble... (YES! You read that correctly... I happily tried everything and enjoyed!)
We went shopping. Well, I went to be out. Our first stop was a used book store at a library. We hit the jackpot -Library Sale! I never thought anything would be so awesome.
I didn't think my luck could get any better... I get to spend a morning wondering through old library books making a list of all the books I'm dying to read...
Well, I ran into a lady who taught in India. I had a stack of books (most of which I didn't buy) and was rounding a corner, when we nearly ran into one another.
Conversation:
me: I'm so sorry. It's obvious I have a problem.
lady: We all have a problem. That's why we are here. I have a pile out on the table already.
me: *Chuckled* I want to grow my personal library and build my classroom library...
This is where it started. She told me has visited 38 countries and she encouraged me to go. It was such a rewarding experience getting to talk to her.
After a new charge of energy, we visited one more used book store and then to the bargin store. This is wear I found my biggest, most rewarding buy. I bought one winter white coat and a nice fall jacket. Both items in the store should probably cost $220. Honestly, the white coat is really nice... Well, at the Bargin Store clothes are $0.85 a piece. Woot-Woot!
To finish off our time, Marica decided to buzz her hair. There is a reason behind this. Let's just say Marcia has a large heart and is a wonderful supporter of her family. I know I couldn't do this -I would love to. But Marcia pulls this off with such confidence. I love it! Take a look.
So finally, I had a weekend to talk about. Next weekend is homecoming. More pictures to come! My dad and sisters will be joining me. There will also be a visit from Patti.
