Inspired Pledge

I have officially been inspired by another blogger. So often I have high hopes for a blog and then I face-plant. I know once I leave this could take off BUT I want to get into the habit now! Kate Conner has a beautiful blog for her life. She shares her opinion and her daily events with her followers. So I'm pledging to you a new start to my blog. My hope is to get on here once a week and share something -if it's an article, and update on life, or just a few photos that is my goal!

My fresh start to this is an update! Today started my fourth week of student teaching. If I haven't told you already, I love it! Honestly, I had my doubts about the whole teaching, planning, waking up early (still not sold) thing. But once my students enter the classroom, the planning I did the night before and having to miss spending time with friends kind of slips away. I mean, obviously, I miss you! I miss spending time with you, my friends. Seeing you, hearing your laughter, and sharing conversation with you. But when I get to make a difference and see my students improve, smile, laugh at my lesson that spent an hour preparing and gathering materials. I feel like I'm doing what I wanted - to make an impact. To challenge young minds and to inspire our future leaders. I wish I could inspire our leaders today but I'll settle to see the little redhead in my class, get the biggest smile on her face when she moves her behavior clip from 'Fabulous' to 'Superstar' because she is rockin' today (when all last week she was just 'Ready for the Day' or below).

I'm shocking myself everyday and thrilled with my decision to not change colleges or majors...

Anyway, on top of planning - I have stepped out of my comfort zone and became Cornwall's Bookie Monster. You may ask what is this? Well, the Bookie Moster is a blue creature that comes into the library and tears up some books, eats a few pages, and later promises to never eat another library book again. This little performance has been going for the last four days at 2:00 PM to teach our 1st graders how to treat library books in a memorable way. By all means, this was not my idea to sign up for but surprisingly I am loving this too! To see the reactions, the giggles and little bit of a scream when I fling a book and run around the library has been rewarding. I will even share my AWFUL blue costume with you... I didn't know what I looked like until today. I hope you have a wonderful laugh imagining me doing this! Until next week, enjoy the day!

Here are photos from another (planned) walk with Kris & my costume!
