Although the weather has stayed the same, the days are moving quickly by. Before Barcelona, I had a count down for the big dates in my future. These included my race, reports being due, my birthday and then home. Now my race is finished, the reports are written, my birthday is in 4 days, and home is just 3 weeks away. I really can't believe home is so close! Last night, I laid in bed just giggling. I couldn't help myself. The thought of being Stateside for six weeks in the HEAT makes me so happy!
Yes, you did read that my race is finished. I completed my first 10k last Saturday. Before the race, I came early to check out Nike's Running Village. Nike had many stations set up but the cool ones obviously had lines. I was alone at the time so I just listened to the live music they provided from Icona Pop and froze my little butt off! It was really really cool and sweet of her and her family! Then we were off!
The race covered four neighborhoods in Berlin and around every corner were people cheering, honking, and playing music. It was a really great atmosphere to run in. Afterwards, my friends and I went for a drink at a bar called Clash and we got pizza! It was fun to celebrate and relax before going home and collapsing!
The day after my race my toes hurt like mad! Besides that, I felt really great and no other problems! That day my friend Carlie had planned an amazing garden party! It was so beautiful and incredibly delicious! She made some very healthy and scrumptious salads with these perfect blueberry, banana, and date muffins. I told her if she ever has a need to bake- I'll eat!
Now that brings us to this week. My reports are written and now I just wait to see if there are any corrections I must make. Otherwise, things at school are slowing down. We have 15 days left and we seriously can't wait. The teachers are possibly more excited than the students.
This weekend will start off with another race and finish with two parties. I'm so ready for this weekend.
22 days
