Prague

The Saturday before Christmas, Bethany and I headed by bus to Prague. I have been hearing wonderful things about Prague but you never really know until you experience it yourself. And those individuals were so right! Prague may be a new favorite city!

Once arriving, we found our hotel which happened to be a beautiful apartment complete with a gorgeous tub! After settling, we roamed around the main street where many name brand stores are located. We decided to have a girls night in complete with a Disney princess movie!

The next day, we walked around Old Town. We felt spoiled that the stores were open on a Sunday. We got to enjoy small shops with handmade products. These are the types of stores that I love. I love the creative, unique, little shops where the creator is sitting there working on some new items to sell. As long as getting our shopping on, we saw some beautiful views of the city.

There is a few places along the shore line where swans come right up to people. They are often fed and that is why they seem to be so friendly. It was very neat to see these elegant creatures up close.

Of course, like Berlin, Prague had their own handful of Christmas markets to wander through. Nothing that caught my eye more than another place though. I will say their food looked spot on! I did not have any street food this time.

On our last night in Prague, Bethany and I attended The Nutcracker. I have been planning and looking forward to this evening for at least two months. We went out to dinner at a top restaurant. Boy, was it delicious! I may not spend money on furniture and decorations but I like to have a wonderful meal from time to time. Once we finished, we ran. Yes, ran to the ballet! We had two minute to spare, in which we just found our seats. The National Theatre is seriously gorgeous! The evening was wonderful but I was a little disappointed by the ballet. As the ballet started, Scrooge appeared. Scrooge is not part of The Nutcracker! The show ended up being a mixture between The Christmas Carol and The Nutcracker. Many of the memorable scenes I remember as a kid, I missed in this showing. There was no glorifying of the nutcracker by Clara and there was no mice fighting. I think I will just have to go again!

Before we grabbed our bags and headed to the bus, we stopped for a bite to eat. We had some traditional Czech food. It was some serious comfort food! I could go for that every night!

That's all from Prague.
Go if you get the chance! It's a city I love!
