Airport Waiting

This is the first week of summer. Just like a German following rules, Berlin has turned into summer overnight. Today we had a high of 80 F or 30 C. Every morning we go over the weather so I'm quickly learning the equivalent . Tonight I'm enjoying the perfect summer night at the airport. The girls from LVC are arriving in a few minutes. I'm very excited to have them.

Although I'm not a fan of the long ride to the airport, I hope to make many more over my undetermined time here. It's exciting to see familiar, friendly faces in a city where you never see the same person twice. I hope one day I can pick up my family and closest friends at the arrival gate. One day I hope I arrive at a gate while a guy waits with flowers. A woman can dream, right? I actually witnessed a man running with excitement from the train with flowers in hand.

The airport is the best place to people watch. Everyone going someplace and coming from another. There are men directing the cabbie, the cabbies directing the passengers. Oh- it's quite a show! Beside me sits an elderly man and woman. They seem to be catching up. He talks about his family and she stops him every so often to see if Tom is still alive or if Hannah is with the man from Switzerland. I can't figure out why they are here outside the airport while the air cools and the only light is from the neon lights of the building. Maybe a layover? Well, I hope these two enjoy their time together as they catch up and take their time connecting. I must go, their plane will be arriving soon. I hope we can catch-up in airport one day.

All my love. X
