Classes Started

Today is the first day of classes. Reality is setting in. This is my last semester to enjoy the people I love here on campus. See, next semester I will be student teaching; which, realistically means no time whatsoever for a social life and then it's off to Italy. Don't get me wrong -I'm thrilled to go. I do know this year will be a challenge for me -emotionally and spiritually.
Anyway, my first class this morning was at 8am. As I sat there, I was face to face with the professor that resisted my travel plans. He resisted in interest to what's best for me and the class. I am in senior level class with individuals who have already completed student teaching. I believe this class will be the most challenging, not only because of 8am, but because he is not going to let me slide because I am a junior. I respect that. I just need to dig a little deeper. Start thinking long-term, philosophies, etc. Those of you who could be of use -I may pick your brain. My classmates are in the job market which has no meaning to me right now. Even so, my job hunting experience will be very different than theirs. I will have to learn how to translate contracts into English, how to communicate through an interview, learning what those educators want to hear in an interview -instead of what an American school district would want to hear. All of my experiences will be nontraditional, so to say. I will see what I can get away with during the class but I'm hoping to use this time to do research. See what company to work with when searching for a position, making contacts, and building a portfolio that will be beneficial abroad.
Otherwise, I believe my semester will be a piece of cake. 'Knock on wood!' I am carrying 18 credits this semester. Although, I never did this before I have a night class so it's not like I have an extra class twice a week.
I'll keep you posted on how life is treating me...

Note: This might replace some e-mails. I'll tell you to check the blog with love.
