Recapping: Part II

Before I head off to Perugia, I wanted to finish my recapping of my time in the States.

Sunday, July 13
  • Forgot to post this picture! Cuddling with Nicole on the couch while watching the World Cup Game!

Monday, July 14
  • Picnic at Shikellamy Marina with my grandparents, Mam, my cousins, and my sisters. My gram brought lunch for us and we got to play a bit of keep away.
  • We stayed at my gram's for delicious meal of ham potpie. It's so amazing. One dish I always request when I come home.
Tuesday, July 15
  • Full day of breakfast with Heidi, coffee with Steph, and dinner with Patti. It was a great day with lots of great conversation with wonderful women. I'm so lucky to know these ladies!
Wednesday, July 16
  • I woke up and went to Makenna's riding lessons. It was amazing to see her do everything! From beginning to end, she takes care of the horse.

  • After talking and watching with Tammy and Lisa, I picked up the girls and we went to the Squeeze-In. We had hot dogs and chips with Gram and Pap DeWire. After we finished with ice cream!

  • In the evening, the girls and I watched About Time. Oh my word! This movie is my new favorite. I can't stop watching it. I even bought here in Germany so I could watch it. So of course, it's a romantic comedy. But although it seems like the whole movie is about a man and a lady, it really isn't. There's more to the story. The most touching are the ones with his family. The cast and crew of this movie did such a good job with it that I watch it and feel the love. Check it out here!

Thursday, July 17

  • The girls and I headed to the mall. I bought a few things to bring back to Berlin. Here's a few of my purchases. JC Penny's is my new favorite. I bought the skirt and the shorts there.

  • In the evening, I had dinner with Sue at Mercado Burrito. Yum!

Friday, July 18
  • Friday was a great day. We went to Halfway Dam with my grandparents. It was a bit cold to go swimming. So the girls and I took a hike that was full of pictures.

  • After my dad took us to Texas Roadhouse. It was delicious! We were stuffed!!!!
  • Later, I spent the evening with Lacy. It was great to catchup after a long week of being apart.

Saturday, July 19
  • We spent the day at Knoebel's. No more needs to be said.

Sunday, July 20
  • We had worship in the park!
  • Dinner at Gram's
  • Later in the evening, I went over to the Dietz's to watch Rio 2. I thought the movie would be inside but to my surprise it wasn't. It was so cool! They project the movie onto the side of their house.
Monday, July 21
  • I had lunch with my cousin Jenna and her little girl!

  • Later in the afternoon, my sisters and hung out in Lewisburg.

  • After dropping them off at church, I had tea with Patti.
  • Dinner with Lacy at OIP! We so enjoyed this. We went home then to have s'mores with my family. Actually not s'mores, we had roasted marshmallows. The best!
Tuesday, July 22
  • Lunch at Common Ground's Cafe with Gram and Pap DeWire.
  • Working at the school with Tammy.
  • Tammy made ham and green beans!

  • Later Makenna and I went for a bike ride around the Isle of Que.
  • Came back to the Dietz's and practiced throwing knives. I've never done this before so I was thrilled that I stuck two in one round.

Wednesday, July 23
  • I drove to Hershey for a full day! I had breakfast with Dr. Yingling and Jack.
  • Saw my Goddard kiddos! Oh wish I could show you how cute they are and how fast they are growing!!!! eeeeee!
  • Later I stopped at LVC! It was great to catch up with those at the Admission's Office and to see Jayanne.
  • I had an afternoon seeing Carly and Ava. Oh it was perfect. We went to the Jigger Shop. It's such a cute little place. Definitely a must stop in you get in the Mt. Gretna area.

  • I finished the night by going to Wednesday Night Worship. Perfect way to end the day.

Thursday, July 24
  • This was my last day at home. In the morning, I bought a few American goodies (that I'm almost out of) and packed my suitcase.
  • I met my grandparents at the Purple Cow for lunch. I finished lunched with a fresh raspberry sundae. YUM! YUM! YUM!

  • In the evening, we had pizza from OIP and called it a night.
So my adventures at home ended perfectly. Topped with pepperoni.

My days in Berlin are going well. Yesterday, I met up with Rach in Potsdam. We went swimming at the lake. We went back to her hotel and had wine and cheese on the sun-deck with her cohorts. We finished the evening with dinner at a beer garden. It was such a wonderful day! Seriously one of the best since I've been in Berlin!

Next time will be after Italy... eeeee!!!!!
