Weekend in Berlin.

For the first time since I've been here, I thought I think I'll be happy to be here this summer. The weather is s...l...o...w...l...y changing. I'm jealous of the 80 degree weather in the States. It seems like I got the short end of this stick. I spent the freezing cold winter there with you, went through the time change, came to Berlin, went through another time change, and now I'm not benefitting from the warm weather. I think it's a total gift that you are getting warmer weather because of the harsh winter we all survived.

With the change in weather, there are tons of people out and about. I have found myself at a farmer's market the last two weekends. They have wonderful homemade products. My favorite is the jam. I think I told you about this but we talked to the guy a bit more yesterday. He told us that the jam is part of the Top 30 Handmade Products of Fruits and Vegetables in Germany. It's a very cool honor! What's even better -- the jam that's in my fridge was made by his mom and grandma. It truly is homemade from a family. I love it. And to say the jam is good is an understatement. Yesterday, there was a man selling homemade mustards, too! WOAH!! There were beer, whiskey, mango, chili, and many more. The jalapeño was my favorite. It would be good for dipping fries or on a cheeseburger. I think my dad would totally love it!

Finally, I sent out the postcards. I'm sorry that the news on them is old or I got new information after I wrote them. My apologizes if it seems boring or repetitive. It seems to take me a long time to send postcards. So I have a new rule... I must get stamps before I write on them. I did it for one of the last group that went out and it was perfect. The only problem with postcards is you get new information the next day and the old words you wish you wouldn't have said or doesn't fit anymore is already gone and there is nothing you can do to change it. But the old words are coming to you soon! :)

This week is a crazy one! I can't wait for it...

Monday - Facetime with Nicole, Erin, and Mr. Dietz! I'm so excited to see this hilarious group. I know it will be the perfect way to start my week.
Tuesday - Doctor's appointment, which means I have to leave school early.
Wednesday - LVC Girls come!
Thursday - Touring Berlin in the afternoon.
Friday - Observing the school
Saturday - Whatever is left, plus a roof top view of Berlin.

It will be a great week! Plus, I have made chili for the beginning of the week. It's good! It will make my life easier to not have to worry about making something every night.

For my sisters, I have been watching a lot of Christine and listening to old country. I don't know what's going on with me to listen to that but nothing beats some good Reba. Ha! Anyway, for you three... I'm waiting on the list of TV shows (Erin) and music (Nicole)... Sarah will fill me in every where else including sports... OH! Anyone can help with this... I could use a book list. I just finished The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo. I hope to read the rest of the series but I may need a break and I have to find the next one.

Well, I better go. Miss you all! Hope you want to take a trip soon. Many hugs are waiting for you here.

A little gift from my coworker this week. She knows me!

Not a great picture but these are the little jams at the Farmer's Market.

Berlin at night.

Chili! It's what's for dinner... every night until it's finished with a side of Ben and Jerry's Half Bakes.

My breakfast treat on Fridays... cappuccino and eclair.
