Blue4Ben

I don't often do this but I feel compelled to tell you about this family. I don't know when I found out about Ben's Story but once I did I couldn't let it go. Ben is a five year old boy who has cancer. Ben has a twin brother, a little sister, and a sister on the way. Ben's mom, Mindy keeps a blog of his progress. In February, Mindy and Andy were told that their son would only live for another 2-3 weeks. It has now been 3 months! Through prayer and the strength of Ben, he has been doing pretty well. That is until this past weekend. As you can imagine, this is a very difficult time for them. Mindy shares her story over a blog and later posts it on a Facebook page, Blue4Ben. (So this is how I picked up their story.) 

I write because I hope you will click on one of the links above and be encouraged by Mindy's strength and faith. Ben, Mindy, and their family are thought of and prayed for often. I can't go a day without thinking of them. I don't know if it's the twin thing or the fact that Mindy is going to have another baby soon. I don't know what connects me to this story compared to others but I know God's hand is in this story. In one entry, Mindy wrote, "My God is loving. Compassionate. Gentle. The kind of Father that cries when we cry." I truly believe in this statement. I believe when Mindy grieves, God is grieving. When I am reading her blog and crying for her family, so is God. 

I hope you will join with me as I pray for Ben. I pray for a miracle. 


Update: Ben's mom posted on May 14th: Ben is with Jesus now. He took his first breath in heaven peacefully at 8:05pm last night. Thank you so much for praying. Our baby is at peace now.
