Before grabbing lunch, we decided to ride the fastest elevator in Europe. It takes you up 24 floors in 20 seconds. It was very cool! It honestly felt like we went up maybe two floors... There is no jerking because the elevator has only one option the ground floor or the 24th. Here is a view from the top of the building.
We then walked across the street to a mall. We had Curry Wurst mit (with) Frites for lunch. It's a very filling lunch and to my surprise I was not able to finish it all. However, there is always room for gelato. Especailly, Bacio gelato - one of the small pleasures of Perugia in gelato form. (By the way I am very guilty of already looking up flights and trying to make some plans to get there.)
Let's see there are a few random things I wanted to mention to you:
- My shoulder is feeling 100% better but it's not 100% just yet. Thank you for your prayers and thoughts. I truly believe they were helpful. I can't explain it any other way.
- I forgot how hard it is to shower here. Many apartments don't have a place to attach their shower head so it's just on a long hose that you hold while showering.
- I will never feel comfortable about riding a bike here. Especially in the bike lanes, I believe for traffic -the city is safe. Although, my confidence level on a bike is certainly not high enough to even try.
- Where I'm staying now? I'm staying with Mike and Jess at their place in Wedding. It's a nice quiet area with many stores near by if needed! Also it is not far from the central city, Mitte.
Here is a map of the city.... I am staying in Wedding at the top, my work is at the bottom in Zehlendorf. I think I am going to look for a place to live Schoneberg or Kruezberg. I heard they are fun areas to be in and I won't have to travel too far to do something or go to work.
That's all for now. I'm spending the day resting because I did not sleep well last night. I was awake from 2-5 am. I need to go to bed early tonight and try to sleep as much as possible because I am going into FSAS tomorrow.
Love & Miss you! xoxox
