Roma in Five Senses
What I saw:
- In the Vatican, I saw many beautiful pieces of art work including paintings, sculptors, and tapestries.
- I saw a glimpse of the Colosseum. We were around the area of the Colosseum and I was like a child looking for Santa at the mall. I was continuously trying to catch a glimpse.
- Places I saw: Vatican, Capitolini, and Villa Giulia.
- Stores after stores... of beautiful dresses. No worries, I didn't even enter a store. Saddest moment of the weekend.
What I heard:
- Heard the screeching of the metro and the random conversations of Italians talking about us.
- On the Tram, we heard the musical talents of a guitar player.
- While walking around Rome, we caught conversations in German, French, and English.
What I tasted:
- Sadly, nothing too delicious. Nothing worth a picture in other words.
- Friday, the awful crunch of frozen pizza -that I could of made on my own.
- The sad truthful that dinner didn't get better. Once, in Italy you think any pizza is at least decent. False.
- To be honest, best pizza I had in Rome was at the bus stop -give you an idea of how awful the food that I consumed was?!?
- I did get gelato (of course -one in every city!), which wasn't too terrible.
What I smelled:
- The smell of food wafting onto the street.
- The flowers on the back of a delivery truck.
What I touched:
- Salty fries.
- Germy handrails of public transportation.
Note: I didn't want to half-heartily rant to you for two paragraphs, so I decided to try something new.
