- Sunday: Stayed in and watched two movies with Kara. There was no popcorn or surround-sound but we got into the Italian mood by watching Under the Tuscan Sun and then later, Step Mom. It blows my mind how much we agree on things. Such as Gilmore Girls!
- Monday: First day of classes... and this is where my memory starts to blur. Monday into Tuesday were stressful days for me. Reality set in-- I will have to write papers and research and reading! Lots of reading! As if looking at the sylbas didn't get me stressed out, I was overwhelmed with thoughts of applying for a job.
I'm starting to learn my schedule for my classes and making sure I do my homework the day it's assigned. I didn't realize getting back into a routine of homework would be challenging. I guess I've been on the other side of grading for too long. (Missing my first graders!)
Anyway, I have been in contact with friends and staff at LVC to help prepare for the job process -even someone at Umbra. It's amazing how kind people are! Maybe someday I will share my thought process but for tonight it's still too fresh and I'm still trying to figure it out. Instead of doubting though and really waiting, I have started. I have picked three websites and started filling out an application so my name will be in a database for school districts to look at. It's a start.
Before I forget, tonight -ummm... I had the best crepe. Around 10 o'clock, Kara came over and we were both craving something sweet. In Perugia, it is very difficult to find something sweet after 8 pm. There is no such thing as a 24 hour store, unless you are buying cigarettes or going to a bar. But we searched and searched. I think we covered the main streets and a few of the side ones. I would say our walking around made us deserve to have dessert. We ran into three guys she knows (Kara knows everyone) and they told us of this crepe place. It is down a long alley way and at the bottom you go through one door to another. It seems very "sketch" but well deserved! She has different fillings such as Nutella and then cereals to add too! I couldn't believe she had Coco-Pebbles and Coco-Puffs plus Kix. I believe it was better than the crepe I had in France!
Tomorrow is my last day of classes. I'm so excited just to have four day weeks. Although, tomorrow evening my education internship is traveling to the high school to visit and introduce ourselves. Then we do the same on Friday at another school. I'm not sure if I'm sticking with this class because I'm feeling so overwhelmed... I'll keep you posted.
My weekend plans are simple. Friday night, Kara and I are joining Diva to have dinner out. Then, Saturday Kara, Susanne, and I are going to the market in Perugia. I'm told you can get fresh vegetables there. Plus, I'm hoping to find a warm, cheap sweater. Oh I almost forgot -I'm doing laundry Thursday evening. First time since I've been here. This could be a challenge since there is no dryer. I guess I will record how long it will take.
Wishing you all the best.
