I know. My December blogroll is lacking. Give me a break you try a full time teaching job, planning a life changing trip, and still making time to be social. (I use the word social loosely.)
Nonetheless, before long this blog will be on overload! In 23 days, I will be setting foot in Rome. Truthfully, I've been talking about this trip for over a year now and I can't believe it is truly only 23 days away. I'm pretty sure I haven't mentally prepared to go; therefore, I will be going through culture shock as soon as I get there. Many quick transitions are around the corner from teaching to Italy to reality. Today, I touched base with my university to let them know when to pick me up. Mind boggling!
With Italy, that does mean student teaching is ending. I have learned so much in these last 16 weeks about my abilities, about students, about colleagues. I have been truly blessed to have the cooperating teacher I did and to be in the school I was. I couldn't have asked for a better experience and through that I have surprised myself with what I can accomplish. On Friday, I will wish my first graders a final goodbye. What a bittersweet moment.
Well, it's past 11 and I am still full teaching for three more days. Good night. Don't forget about this! I promise to post more as soon as I land. My feet still can't touch the ground... 23 days.
